Day trip near Bangalore, Bengaluru (85+km one way),

Ramnagar (Ramanagara) region

Explore wilderness between two hills. Spot some geological features. Discover connections between land, water and culture.

Scenic landscapes. Small hill climb. Tucked away wilderness. Stunning geological formations.

GEO: Rocks, hills, rock details

ECO: Dragonflies, butterflies or more.

HISTORY: Old temple, motifs and inscriptions.

Start a fresh day from Bengaluru, travel towards Mysore. Passing a few green and rocky hills and a dry river that we can hardly see. A morning chai break at a “place” of our own. We eventually reach our twin hills. Discover the little wilderness tucked between them. A stepped climb to little old temples on top, down to a cave temple and a pool of water. Observe, enjoy and learn. The rocks and the flora fauna have something to say. You may even spot some birds. Later visit another hill, walk through rock formations with a climax at the end! A lot packed into a seemingly simple day. Return, having enjoyed learning a few spectacular things.
